The civil war! ?
please answer what u know and put what number ur answering
this is a lot of help guys!!
THANKS!! in ADVANCE!
1) what factors led to the civil war
2) what advantages did each side have
3) who were the key generals
4) What military strategy was used
5) what effect did the civil war leave on the landscape?
On politics? On the Economy
Factors: SLAVERY, and states-rights versus national law
Advantages:
Union: better equipped, more money, more troops, better morale, fighting a defensive war
Confeds: better generals, fighting for a reason -- slavery and states rights
Generals:
Union: Ulysses S. Grant, JEB Stuart, Burnside, McClellan, Pope, Irving McDowell, Hooker
Confeds: Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, Beauregard, Johnston
Strategy: union just defended for a while. then they sent Sherman down to Georgia and he burned everything to the ground
Not too many effects on landscape, except for all the cannon holes
Politics: national laws were adopted with limited states-rights, one nation again
Economy: Slavery abolished in south so the economy crumbled. Cotton was a major export but not anymore with out slaves.
hope that helps!!
