Landscape Light

Realtors: Do you find "Value/Curb Appeal" in landscape lighting when showing a home? (not the cheap solar)
I've had a Home Staging company ask if we would set up lighting in the fronts of homes for customers who are selling their homes. I was wondering if the realty community had any opinions on the value of quality landscape lighting. I'm not talking the store bought cheap fixtures - either solar or plastic light kits, but metal low voltage lights for the sidewalks, lighting for pillars and brick/stone face, along with any trees etc.
I am not a realtor but have bought and sold multiple homes. It doesn't really add much to me. I think the money could be spend better else where.

Solar Powered

Is there a solar powered window air conditioning unit?
Only need AC for one or two rooms. Wondering if there is a solar powered window unit for air conditioning?
I'm thinking that it would require unrolling the panels and either hanging them from the window, or placing them on the roof. Not sure. Thought I read something about it.
No, they only make solar powered clothes dryers. They cost near to nothing. Just rope and clothes pin's.

Pathway Outdoor

What would make a good defining piece/s for the wedding aisle?
I don't want to be traditional and have an aisle runner or flower petals. August 15, 2010 is our wedding date and our theme is a cross of nature and love birds. Colors are Black, White, and an earthy green.
I had one idea of using bird cages except don't know how yet...i need to define my aisle but also to make a pathway to the outdoor ceremony so the guests wont walk through our lodge where i will be waiting. the pathway and aisle have to somehow compliment each other.
why not use small lights or fire torches as the pathway, then use white rose petals as the aisle, hang white bird cages along the aisle on large steaks (so the cages are about shoulder height) and fill with flowers. this will then determine the aisle and the area for friends and family to walk

Wall Light

how do i calculate the illuminance of a wall light?
How do i work out the illuminance of a wall light that is 5 metres up on a wall?
the wall light is 1500 candela so the illuminance directly below the light would be 1500/5 squared = 60
what would be the illuminance 3 metres on the ground away from the wall
Use the square law. The distance will be the hypotenuse, and then it'll be decreased by the cosine of the angle of the triangle.

Lights Lamp

why does my lcd tv lamp light comes on but then works when i unplug or reset tv?
i have a mitsubishi 62350 lcd and am confused .1st mitsubishi tells me it gonna cost all this money to get it to work ,all this over th phone.i just bought lamp 1 month ago and tv would cut off it still cuts off and lamp lights up but if i unplug and plug in it works why?
Best guess: there is a component in your set's power supply that is failing when it gets warm. That's very common with virtually any part on a circuit board. It cools down enough when you unplug it that it will work for a while when you plug it back in. Then, the accumulated heat causes the faulty part to open up again.
A TV technician will troubleshoot problems like this with a heat lamp, unless he just decides to replace the entire circuit board (sometimes that's the cheaper solution). In any case, it's most likely going to require a repair job by a qualified technician.
