Garden Yard

What do you have in your garden/yard that I might like?
I like exotic flowers, statuary, trees, things for birds to play with and sheds. I quite like swinging chairs.
I have a life sized statue of aphrodite in a corner covered by a beautiful dark red clematis.
I have bananas and a palm tree, ginger lilies, Crocosmia lucifer which has tall fiery red flowers in season, a. A pond full of lacy finned fish and a beautiful white waterily.
Jasmine vines cover one wall and the scent in the evening is sublime. I have Irises and Daylilies of the darkest hue and pure white scented Regale lililes. I have an archway covered with kiwi fruit in summer and two white cherry trees that create confetti on my lawn every Spring. I have old fashioned scented roses underplanted with pristine white crocus.
At the back of my garden is a secret summer house where only myself and my friends are allowed. Inside are windchimes and candles, sculptures and nicknacks on every wall. These can be contemplated from the comfort of soft, cream, cushion covered, seats large enough to recline on if the want takes you.
In a little corner behind the summerhouse, tied to a branch is a swinging hammock chair, shaded in summer from the heat of the day so I can sit peacefully and read undisturbed or just watch the birds who come to visit the many feeders hung around the garden.

Solar Lights

Does the strength of solar lights decrease with distance? How far lights can be from panel without power loss?
I have three solar spot lights, each connected to ONE approx 4in x 4 in solar cell panel with 20ft. plastic covered wires. Will the current decrease if the lights are attached with 40ft wires? How far can I place the lights without weakening the flow of power? Will the wires withstand 45 C sun? Can the wires be replaced with any other kind that would stand higher sun temperature for 3 months? Can't replace anything except wires where I am.
Yes. If you are talking about solar tube light systems, then the light does decrease the further away you get. With solar light transmitted through fiber optic cables, the light decreases in relation to the length of the fiber optic cables.
But maybe I misunderstood your question. If you have a solar photovoltaic panel that collects energy form the sun and then runs that electricity through a wire to a spotlight, then no, the light strength would not decrease with the distance of the wires. These solar spot lights are commercially available in lots of stores for less than $100 and ofter have different length wires or cables available as options.
The question of whether the wires will withstand hot temperatures is best answered by the specific manufacturer of your wires. Generally speaking, they should be fine, even on a hot day.
Note that if you replace the wires, you may void any warranties that came with the light system from the original manufacturer.

Garden Wall

Can anyone recommend free software to help me draw/plan a simple garden wall?
I want a small, fairly simple, garden wall built and am seeking a free software program which would help me sketch out some designs and help me estimate how many bricks are needed. Ideally i'd also print this out to show the builder. Any ideas?
Whatever happened to old pencil, paper and ruler???? Seems like the time searching for a website, you could draw it up and be done.

Spot Lights

IS there a name for the phenomenon that causes light from various spot and pole lights upwards on cold nights?
Usually noticed on extremely cold nights with the temp hovering around zero.
Fog, mist? That will carry light upward.
Snow on the ground will scatter light, and be more apparent when the clouds are low.
Plain ol' light pollution.
Depending on the humidity and such, ice crystals will form and fall, a sort extremely light snow. This will scatter available light too.

Deck Lights

Whats a good deck against gladiators and light decks?
Alright, I used to be a huge chaos fan but everyone these days uses gladiators and light decks. I do research of all the shonan jump championships and its the same deck every time. I need some variety and something that can do well and counter these decks. Can someone please post blue-prints for a decent deck that can stand well on its own and against gladiators and light decks?
light never wins, are you by chance talking about light sworn?
they are not all that good yet. Dark deck is still great, DAD though not first any more, but still all powerful and beats everything else.
Looks like Fat~Jack...'s got a good build.

Solar Panel

Can I keep the voltage rating of a solar panel the same and have a higher voltage?
I have a solar panel that is 12 volts and produces 1.5 watts, and I am planning to get a solar panel with 6-14 volts and 1-1.8 watts. How can I wire it so It stays at 12 volts, but gets a better amp hour rating so the wattage goes up?
The listing on eBay that I am planning to get it on is multiple that range from 6-14 volts and 1-1.8 watts.
when it says 6-14 volts you need to know what accounts for the variation. probably the level of sunlight. so it's very possible that your 12 volt panel will react the same way, but it's telling you 12 volts in average exposure. i would recomend setting both in the sun right next to each other, and measure each ones voltage under the same conditions. they will probably be the same. then just hook them up in paralell and you'll have approx 12 volts with twice the wattage available.

Lantern Solar

I am looking for a good solar lantern in Banaglore. Any suggestions?
Not quite happy with the leading brands. They are either too bulky or too dim. I am looking for something low weight and reasonable brightness.
Hi there,
I had the same problem with those leading branded stuff.
But, there is a new store near Banasankari 3rd stage called "INDOSOL ENERGY PVT. LTD" where we can get cute, trendy solar lanterns.
I got one which is so small and also it is provided with LEDs instead of CFLs. The brightness is 2w which is equivalent to 8w of CFL intensity. So, I think its a better option.
One more cool thing is that they have an online market, www.indosolmart.com where you can directly check these solar gadgets.
They even come to your place and give demo about the product and will do free delivery.
