Isn't Metal and Punk genres of Rock?

My idiot friends say their not, but I dont think so. To me, rock is a giant umbrella genre that covers a lot of stuff. Made by 4/4 guitar, bass, drums, and most of the time vocals. Kinda weird how i prove them wrong a lot, but they still dont ever believe my word and call me "artard" (yes, their geeks and asses).

Also isnt Led Zeppelin hard rock? I'm gonna write to Jimmy Page to make sure!
For the guy who asked me if Im so sure, why ask? its because so I can say more ppl agree with me and its common sense

your friends are total dumbasses then bro. Metal and punk are both major parts of rock. A great metal band would have to be Black Sabbath, who had huge influences on many other bands. The Sex Pistols are a good example of punk rock.

Led Zeppelin is composed of several genres. They have a perfect blend of country, bluegrass, blues, and hard rock, which is why their music appeals to so many people.

what sections (300's) is the outdoor patio next to at Staples Center?

Can any one tell me what sections are near City View Terrace, the outdoor patio, at Staples? I want to say 318 or so, but not certain.
Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure it's next to section 327, it's definitely on that end.

Anyone had "solar protection" on their furniture???

My husband and I just bought a new couch and loveseat today and they are white and we have a dog and we are having a baby in the next month, so we figured white furniture wasn't the best idea .. but they are putting "solar protection" on it, it's some kind of seal? and they said it makes it easy to wipe off spills so they don't stain ... has anyone heard of it?? has anyone had the "solar protection"????
thanks!

**it's guaranteed for 10 years. They said if anything is spilled on it and we cant get the mark off, they will send someone out for free to fix it .. and if they can't fix it, they will replace the couch.**

try soil protection. one brand is called "scotch guard" but there are others. If you have a baby and a dog, and even a sloppy husband, it is a good idea. Check their price, and the price of a couple cans at K-Mart.
The car dealers like to try to add this on too, calling it "fabric protection".

How to make a solar oven? Science Project..?

Our teacher is giving us three days in class to make a solar oven the only materials we can use are cardboard, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and construction paper..does anybpdy know how to help me I'm lost and don't know what to do..It also has to get to a certain temperature when in the sun...thanxs in advance!

Use a cardboard box as the oven. Make a large opening on top for the solar rays to get into the oven. Aluminium foil has high reflectance. Cover the inside surfaces of the oven with aluminium foil. The foil will reflect back the radiations that are trying escape through the sides. Cover the opening with clear plastic wrap. Clear plastic and glass allow solar (short wave radiation) to pass through, but doesn't allow internal (long wave) radiation to pass through the wrap, thus trapping the solar energy inside the oven making it warmer than the surrounding.

Solar light questions anyone out there that can help?

We built a tiki hut, I would like to have a flickering single candle (to put it in a lantern) that runs off solar. I know I can buy the battery operated ones, or plug but don't want to keep buying batteries and there is no electric out in this hut. Do you know if I can buy a small solar panel from one set of lights cut it, take a flickering candle cut that cord and connect it to this solar panel to make it work/flicker? I need this candles from the flickering part to the panel to be about 20' will this work and thank you very much!!!!!!

It would depend on how clever you are and how well your fine motor skills are doing. Not meant to be funny, but most of those solar-powered light systems that stick in the ground are all on one chip including the battery such that switching parts is no small task.

You would be better served to purchase a small solar panel, gel-cell-type battery, obtain the blinking/flickering LED lamps directly and rig what you want where you want it. In addition to which you would be able to make some real light from the battery if needed.

I am sure this is not the answer you wanted, but I hate to see you spend money on something that will not work properly or require much more effort than it is worth. The whole system detailed below can be done for less than $60, much less if you find a cheap source of sealed batteries.

Wired Malibu/Garden lights vs. Solar Malibu lights?

I presently have the wired Malibu lights. I've had much trouble with the wiring and transformer. This happens regularly. So, I'm thinking of switching to solar Malibu lights. I noticed my neighbor's solar Malibu lights don't seem nearly as bright as my wired lights. Are there any solar Malibu lights that are nearly as bright as the wired kind? What brand?

none of the solar lights emit the same lumes as wired lights. most of the new ones use leds, which work better but they still have limits. usually they work ok at the beginning of the night and fade as their batteries weaken.

for my money i still like the wired lights. yea they can be troublesome at times but properly installed the return outweighs the trouble.
