What should I plant this spring in my outdoor garden?

I'm in the 5A-6B plant hardiness zone of Canada. I have a garden on a slight incline about twelve feet wide and five feet deep. It is currently quite rocky, it appears gravel was added underneath canvass for drainage (I assume) and then dirt dumped over it. Should I dig all of this out and start over? There are some perennials, (rose bushes - very ugly) that I'd like to pull out, and hostas I planted last year. What type of shrubs, perennials and flowers would do well in this area? I am looking for easy care type stuff, but I like pretty flowers. I also prefer wild flowers or those that look wild. I do not like the rose bushes, they are very difficult to make look pretty and are quite thorny making access to the rest of the garden difficult as they are so overgrown. Any tips for the small hill garden would be appreciated as well.

You could make the area into a rock garden. Suggestions for plants: cranesbill, stonecress, bellflower, gentian, lantana, salvia, sedum, diasca, scilla, onamental onion, crocus, allium, fleabane, phlox, violas, and herbs. Incorporate a few large rocks or use smaller ones as an edging. Removing the roses sounds like a good idea if you don't like them. Plant something that will make you smile every time you see it. Good luck.

Path Lights

Path Lights
If you had to walk a path one with light but you knew it would bring destruction and one with darkness?

and one with darkness that would bring order but haunt you for the rest of your life.

Taco bell is my destiny I must have more of the Taco Bell doggie...
BUt really
purpose of my life Is to bring forth a religious revival that gets us back to the true Values that people had in the days of old. If we can only get back to where Adam and Moses and Jeremia and Mr. T left off then we could get back to The Garden. And the Lord would shine down uppon us and Mr. T would no longer be forced by Lucifer to pity da' fools. He would shine forth his great radience and eject his seed into all of the women searching for purposes in their l1ves and they would stay @ home with da chillens and raisen them as my mammy did 2 me when I was a young wipper-snapper. And then the day would come when all people would be equal upon this earth and Women would realize that their place in life was in the kitchen!!!!!!!!11!!!!one!!!

Do solar powered landscape lighting systems work well?

We tried them along a walkway and were very disappointed. The light they produced was very dim at best. We soon replaced them with low voltage wired lights. We now use the solar lights on a boat dock and still consider them ineffective.

Good luck with your lighting project.

where are these rocks from space coming from?

like the big rock that supposedly wiped out the dinosaurs where are these rocks coming from I'm guessing from other planets that were blown out of their solar system cause their stat blew up or something and pieces of these planets just happen to be in the pathway to earth
not stat star*

The bulk of the Near Earth Object population comes from the Main Belt (between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter). There are a number of strong orbital resonances in the region of the belt and objects reaching these resonances are quickly (within a million years) perturbed into orbits that cross the orbits of one or more of the inner terrestrial planets. Objects reach the main resonances through the influence of lots of smaller resonances and possibly also from the occasional collision within the Main Belt.
Only about 10% of the NEO population comes from long period comets, objects from the Oort Cloud or from the Kuiper Belt/Scattered Disk.

Tell me what you think?

A young hillbilly boy comes home from the war. He see his dad chopping firewood.and goes up to him. He gives him a hug and says I'm home from the war paw.
They sit and talk and his dad asks him, " son what did you learn in that thar army? He pulls a hand grenade out of his duffel bag and tells his dad, well I was taught how to throw this here little green pineapple.
He stands up pulls the pin and throws the grenade and it lands on top of the outhouse and explodes.
His dad tells him, son you might not aught to have done that.
By that time grandpa come walking out of the outhouse brushing himself off and cussing.
He looks around and says that's the last time I will ever light my pipe and fart at the same time.

It may be stuck (rusted) and with a little silicone spray like white lithium grease it will work again.

Have you heard of thin film solar technology?

I think this is very interesting:

"within ten years, solar will undercut coal, natural gas, and nuclear by 50%...The crucial tipping point, says Evans-Prichard, is the $1 per watt point: the current price of most non-renewable energy sources. Current solar technology puts the price of solar power at about $3 to $4 per watt. Anil Sethi of Flisom foresees his thin-film solar panels reaching $.80/watt in five years, and $.50/watt within ten.

Thin film solar modules don’t use the costly, and limited, silicon that we are used to. The technology is based on CIGS (copper indium gallium selenide) arranged on a flexible backing, suitable for not only the tops, but also the sides of buildings, tinted windows, cell phones, notebook computers, cars, and even clothing."

Have you heard of this advancement in solar technology? Sounds very promising.

What might help solar really take off is to make it widely available (like in home improvement stores). For instance, I would buy a small solar panel and battery unit that I could plug something small into, like the pump for my pond. Even though it costs me more (initially) than plugging into the existing outlet, I would buy it because I know it is better for the environment.

Why do people believe in god????

OK. So many religions, we know for a fact that there's at LEAST a 1 in say 20 chance that Christians are wrong. Here's why I think you are all wrong. We think god is a man with a beard who created the universe. Humans are just one of a billion species on earth alone, with an infinate amount on other planets. The sun is s mall star in the solar system, and there are many bigger ones, with many other planets. we can only see from a human perspective as we are human, but why couldn't a dolphin, a plant, a monkey, a frog, a hippo be the creator? It's such bullsh1t, it's smallmindedness. Grow up, honeslty, if you think about it, the universe is so vast, why on earth can we think a human figure created it, when we're a spec of san in the beach that is the universal species and life matter.... religion was invented for the insecure, but through science we can dismiss it all now. And all that jesus bollox, I mean, come on, think logacally not the brainwashed material we were forcefed as kids

They're afraid not to.
